Afternoon Tea Time .02

Between applying for jobs and interviewing my life has been very hectic lately and it's sometimes challenging to keep what I want to get accomplished straight. So this month I've decided start back up my 'Afternoon Tea Time' to write down my personal goals to help keep myself accountable. Instead of weekly goals, I thought monthly goals would be more effective. Anyway, enjoy!

1. Read two books - As an English Literature graduate you would think this goal would be easy. And sure, once I get my head into a book, I can't stop reading. It's just the getting there part I need to work on.       The Hollow Boy by Jonathan Stroud

2. Exercise more - In May I got into a running routine, which I loved. Unfortunately, this running routine is based outside and when the temperature hits over 80, my motivation takes a nosedive.

3. Learn how to cook one new dish - On Memorial Day my boyfriend and I made a delicious crab spaghetti with cream sauce. I thought I was going to die from overeating afterwards, but I'm so excited to try out new recipes!

4. Drink more water - This was is a given, but sooo important in the summer months.

5. Go for one walk a week - I feel these past few weeks I've been cooped up in my apartment with my nose to the grind trying to find a job. It's such a simple joy to get out and walk around for a bit.

6. Finish Pretty Little Liars season 6 - This season has taken me waayy too long to finish. The new season is right around the corner, so I need to get my butt in gear!

7. Spend more time with friends - With Bachelorette viewing dates in my future, I can honestly say I'm the most excited about this goal!

8. Reach 1500 followers on IG - Instagram is my favorite social media. Hands down. I love how creative it is and I love the opportunity to connect with new people through pictures. This number a little steep from where I'm at right now, but goals aren't supposed to be easy!

I would love to know what some of your June goals are! I love hearing everyone's goals. Lets keep each other motivated!

xoxo,

  1. Good luck with your IG goals. That was a big one for me too and know I am trying to hit 3.5K. It goes fast after you get over the 1K mark. :-)

  3. I just found your blog and this is so insane, but we have the same pre-summer goals AND the same name! My name is Rachael Lyn! I know the spelling is a little different but it's so cool! Anyway, I love your blog, so beautiful, and YES to all these! I find it works well for me to buy a 1 liter bottle of water and try to drink the entire thing - or two! - before the end of the day. Might work well for you too! xoxo

    1. That is so crazy we share the same name and have the same pre-summer goals!!! What are the odds?? I, like, immediately went over to your page, and you have SUCH a beautiful and professional blog! I just signed up for your newsletter :) But that's an excellent idea to buy a 1 liter bottle of water. That way you can monitor exactly how much you're drinking and have a goal for each day. I'll definitely have to start that!! Thanks :)

    1. Thank you so much! It's good to be held accountable to what I want to get done this month. Keeps me motivated! But isn't running in the heat the worst? I try to avoid it, but it's hard to avoid in the summer months.

  6. Good luck with your goals! I am the same way with books. I can't sit still long enough to start one but then I can't put it down!

    1. I'm so glad I'm not the only one! I can be so productive when I'm not reading, but as soon as I start reading everything else gets put on hold until I'm finished. It's a bad habit, but books are just sooo good!

  11. One of my goals has been to walk daily for an hour and a half. It is in the 100s so I have to get out really early in the morning or I will melt away.

    1. When I was in Italy last summer the only way I could get a run in was going at 6 in the morning. It was rough to have to wake up that early, but there was no other time because of the heat! It's definitely a challenge to schedule around the weather, but it's so worth it. :)
