my love of all things that tick

Why hello there! So I guess I should throw this disclaimer out there: it’s no secret that I have a slight obsession with watches. (or maybe just a touch more) My first watch I got a little over two years ago for Christmas from the fabulous designer, Anne Klein. The thing I love about watches are that they’re so practical. (Well, duh..) But if you buy the right one they can also function as an interesting statement piece that can be worn with every outfit. That’s what both of my Anne Klein watches function as: statement pieces that go with every outfit I put on. The other plus about Anne Klein is that all of her items are decently priced. They are nice watches, but the prices aren’t sky high. They become even more affordable when bought at TJMAXx. (cue choir of angels singing) The last Anne Klein watch I bought was only $40, which is such a steal!!

Continuing onward with my love of everything that ticks, you don't have to be my best friend to know I love TJMAXx. I don't think I can stop talking about it, actually. If I were given an unlimited shopping spree at only one store it would be TJMAXx. They seriously have everything ranging from Essie nail polish to my newest obsessions, Michael Kors watches.

My love of Michael Kors started when I first watched SarahBelle videos on YouTube. This adorable, southern belle fashionista has been such an influence on what I wear and how I wear it, so naturally watches fit right into the equation. The problem with this designer, though, is that it is the exact opposite of Anne Klein: very, very expensive. Enough to give me heart palpitations when looking at the retail price of some of these items. But, once again, TJMAXx comes in with the win, selling his watches for a fraction of that retail price.

With my obsession growing at astronomical speed, I new I would have to get one sooner or later, but with the price I was assuming it would be later rather than sooner. Like, 'well established single cat owner' later. But when I was out a few weeks back, helping my sister shop for an outfit for her trip to NYC, I saw one of his watches for a price that I just couldn’t say no to! What I love about this watch is the sturdiness of it. I compare it to some of my previous, knock off watches and the quality and durability of the watch is phenomenal. You can just tell you’re going to get your money’s worth.

If you’re like me and really can’t  afford the retial prices of some of these watches, when your heart is telling you yes but your head is telling you no, my advice is to go check out stores like TJMAXx. They always have a wide selection of watches, including Michael Kors and Anne Klein. I would also recommend the online stores HauteLook and Rue La La! They’re free to sign up and always have sales on designer brands everyday. If there are any guys reading this (although I would be pleasantly surprised if they were), these stores also have sales for you too! I've linked these websites below, don't forget to check them out!
