Afternoon Tea Time .05: September Goals

Happy Friday!! I don't know about your guys, but it is such a beautiful day outside and I am so happy it's finally September. Maybe I'm a bit biased because it's my birthday month, but there's always been something about going back to school and the upcoming season of fall that makes September so special. You can bet I'll be posting a ton of fall-related content this month! I honestly can't wait. Today, though, I'm bringing to you a recap of last month's goals and a fresh set of goals for September. Enjoy!

August Goals Recap:

1. Read two books - Harry Poter and the Cursed Child by J.K. Rowling, J. Tiffany, and J Thorne. The Golem's Eye by Jonathan Stroud. These two books were absolutely phenomenal! I know some people were upset the 8th HP story was a play, but I honestly loved every bit of it. Sure, a book would have allowed the writers the ability to dig deeper and flush out the storyline more, but I was absolutely entranced in the story, regardless. And if you have been following my goals this summer, you know I'm a huge fan of Jonathan Stroud's. So good!

2. Cook dinner more  - I actually just made dinner with my boyfriend last night! I've been trying to cook more for myself and have really noticed a difference. It helps to have groceries, too. :P

3. Learn how to cook one new meal - Nope, not yet!

4. Finish The Vampire Diaries and Gossip Girl - Finishing both of these series was highly traumatic for me. I've been watching GG since my Senior year in high school and finally finishing it made it seem like a part of me waas missing. TVD was just hella dramatic (as per usual). I can't believe how the season ended! You know I'll be glued to the tv when the next season starts up again.

5. Reach 1,500 followers on IG - I've definitely increased followers, but, sadly, I'm still behind my goal.

6. Reach 500 followers on Twitter - ~!~

7. Reach 500 likes on Facebook - So close!

8. Write blog posts ahead of time - I'm the worst at doing this, lololz.

9. Learn more about SEO and SumoMe - I actually did a bit of research on SEO, and while there's still more I want to figure out, I think I have the basic understanding of it. As far as SumoMe, I have a slight inkling, but not quite yet. I really just need to plug it into Google and I'll be set. (oops)

10. Finish 4 Summer Bucket List items - I feel like I did so much this month!! I can't wait to write a Summer Bucket List Recap post. Be on the lookout for that in the near future!

September Goals:

Personal:
1. Read two books

2. Learn to cook one fall inspired dish - Is anyone else out there hella excited for fall?! I'm thinking maybe apple pie, but that might be a bit adventurous for me.

3. Finish New Girl

4. Plan birthday trip to NYC - My sister recently moved to NYC and I've been dying to visit. My birthday this month is the perfect excuse to make my way there. I definitely want to see Waitress while I'm there!

For the Blog:
1. Reach 1,500 followers on IG & engage more - Ever since this new algorithm, I've been really bad at engaging with my followers. I feel like I barely see some of the people I used to see all of the time.

2. Reach 550 followers on Twitter

3. Reach 300 followers on Pinterest - Recently, I've become obsessed with Pinterest. I don't know what it is about it, but I'm in love. I'm constantly pinning and creating new boards! All of the fall pins are amaze.

4. Reach 500 followers on Facebook

5. Write blog posts ahead of time

6. Schedule blog posts for the whole month - I think it will be easier for me to write posts ahead of time if I have a schedule of what posts I want to write when. It's a little tricky with how unpredictable my work schedule is, but it's definitely something I want to start implementing.

What goals do you have for the month?

  3. Oh my goodness you totally succeeded in getting so many of your goals done! If you like butternut squash, butternut squash soup is superbly easy to make and delicious as a fall dish. I just finished my summer goals and now I'm back on tracking my year long ones

    1. Those are great goals! And honestly those are enough to occupy you for the whole month. I feel like growing my IG is a full time job. I love it and its definitely fulfilling, but a lot of work at the same time. I love running, too! I don't do it as often as I used to. I ran 6 miles ONCE, hahah, but 3 is my typical length.

  7. We have very similar tv show tastes. I love TVD and New girl. I took a few years off of gossip girl and went back and watched it a few years ago and glad I did. Althought a few people ruined who gossip girl was for me ahead of time.

    1. People ruined who GG was for me too. :/ That was kind of a bummer, but I honestly had fun watching it either way. :) We definitely have the same taste in TV shows, though. They're such a great shows!

    1. I would 100% recommend watching it! The first few episodes are really awkward to get through, just because Jess is sooooo awkward at first. But she mellows out a bit. and the episodes are all sooo funny!

  9. New Girl is THE BEST. And I'm the worst at writing blog posts in advance hahaha! I love your goals!

    1. i LOVE New Girl!!! It's such a good show :) But yes! I don't know what it is, but I can't get my butt into gear to write a post ahead of time. It just doesn't work! hahah

  10. Good luck with those! I am so bad at scheduling my blog posts or writing ahead of time. I'm away for 2 weeks this month though so I really need to make it a priority this month!
